Jenkins was known initially as Hudson, but it was renamed after a dispute with Oracle, which had forked the project and claimed ownership of the name.
Hudson’s Oracle fork was developed for a little longer before being donated to the Eclipse Foundation. Hudson, an Oracle product, is no longer supported and was declared outdated in February 2017.
