🚀 Hey there, Marvelous DevOps Heroes! Swami K here, back with another exciting episode of ‘Coffee Bytes with DevOps’! ☕ Today, we’re gonna dive into the magical realm of efficiency, and like Doctor Strange, we’ll explore the hidden dimensions of our internal customers. 💡 So buckle up, and let’s get started!

Give your internal customers the VIP treatment — Design for them, and watch your process soar! 🎢🔥

🔧 In the 1980s, the Designing for Manufacturability movement shook the world like the mighty Mjölnir! ⚡ Designers started crafting products with care, keeping in mind the needs of the people who’d manufacture and assemble them. This shift in focus helped create better products with lower costs, higher quality, and faster flow! 🌊

🤝 Lean methodology introduced two types of customers: the external customer (think Peter Parker buying his web fluid) and the internal customer (Tony Stark’s lab assistants working on the next Iron Man suit). And guess what? Our most important customer is the one right next to us in the assembly line, our downstream work center! 🏭

🚀 To optimize our work, we need to channel our inner Professor X and empathize with our internal customers’ problems. This way, we can identify and eliminate any bottlenecks in the process, making their lives easier and boosting overall efficiency! 🚀

💻 Now, let’s teleport to the technology value stream, where we can apply the same principles by designing for operations. We must prioritize operational non-functional requirements (like a Vibranium-strong architecture or Hulk-proof security) as much as user features. 🦾

✅ By doing so, we create quality at the source, just like a well-oiled Avengers team! We’ll end up with a set of codified non-functional requirements that can be proactively integrated into every service we build, ensuring a smoother, more efficient process. 🌟

And that’s a wrap, folks! We’ve explored the power of focusing on internal customers to boost efficiency, and now it’s time to put that knowledge into action. 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️ Remember, every hero has a role to play, and together, we can assemble an unstoppable DevOps team! 🤜🤛

Now, it’s your turn! 💬 What are some ways you’ve focused on internal customers to improve efficiency in your team? Let’s keep the conversation going in the comments below! 👇
