Platforms are like a buffet of options for developers, offering a wide variety of flavors and textures with APIs and cloud services!

🤔 What exactly is a platform? Well, think of it as a set of tools that you can use to build new things. Like Legos, a platform provides the foundation and the methodology to construct something new.

🏗️ Legos are a great example of a platform because they offer a system of construction, and what you build is limited only by your imagination. Similarly, a cloud platform like AWS or GCP provides the infrastructure for building new services, applications, or websites using their cloud services.

🧱 Just like Legos, different cloud services connect in the cloud through APIs. And just like how Lego provides specialized parts for building specific things, cloud platforms like GCP offer over 100 cloud services for you to use to build your services on top.

👨‍💻 For instance, Google Cloud Platform is a platform for building cloud-native applications, cloud services, storing data, and hundreds of other cloudy things. Similarly, iOS is a platform for building Apple iPhone apps, and Microsoft Windows is a platform for building Windows programs.

🦸‍♀️ Just like how Marvel Cinematic Universe has different superheroes with their unique abilities, each platform has its own set of services in specialty areas that make it easy for others to build something using those services.
