Trust: The Secret Weapon to Supercharge Your Team’s Performance! 💥
Alrighty then, let’s talk about building trust with your team! 🤝
So, after working with teams for the past 23+ years, I’ve realized that trust is the most important quality to have. And let’s be real, trust is rarer than a sighting of the mythical Infinity Stones. 😅
But don’t worry; if you can build trust with your team, you’ll have a major advantage. Think of it like having the power of Thor’s hammer on your side. ⚡️
The problem with trust is that people use the word differently, and it’s just plain hard to achieve. Trust isn’t just about being able to predict each other’s actions because you’ve known each other forever. Even the most dysfunctional teams can do that. 🙄
Real trust is about vulnerability. It’s about being comfortable enough to show your weaknesses, fears, and failures to your team. Sounds crazy, right? But it’s true! When your team members can be honest with each other, it helps avoid all the political nonsense that wastes everyone’s time and energy.
But, vulnerability-based trust is HARD. Humans are wired to protect ourselves, so putting ourselves at risk for the good of others doesn’t come naturally. We’re more likely to follow the advice of Star-Lord and “look out for number one.” But on a team, that’s a recipe for disaster. 🚨
The key to building trust is teaching your team members to be comfortable with being exposed to each other. They need to be able to say things like “I messed up” or “I need help” without fear of judgment. If your team members can’t do that, then they won’t be able to trust each other. And that’s a problem. 🤔
Building trust doesn’t have to take a lot of time, but it does take courage. Your team members need to be willing to take risks and be vulnerable, even if they don’t know if it will be reciprocated. It’s like a game of chance, but instead of playing for the Tesseract, you’re playing for trust. 😎
So go forth and build that trust, Avengers! Remember, it’s the key to success. 💪
