Once upon a time, in the land of technology, computers were bored. Like Thor without his hammer, they had immense power, but 80% of the time, they had nothing to do! 💤 And that’s when the cloud came in like Iron Man, with a genius solution — sharing! 🤝
This is where multi-tenancy, the heart of cloud computing, was born. To put it simply, multi-tenancy means multiple customers can run workloads on the same computer at the same time, like the Avengers sharing a base. 🏢
Over time, three technologies evolved to make sharing servers possible: Virtual Machines (VMs), Containers, and Lightweight Virtualization. Each of these is like a different superhero with their own set of skills! 💥 VMs: The oldest sharing technology, VMs create a digital copy of a computer, making customers feel like they have an entire computer to themselves.
